The Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is pleased to announce the opening of a new distance learning course on Intellectual Property for judges.

This new course titled General Course on Intellectual Property for Judges is available for members of the judiciary and has been developed and reviewed by a panel of experienced judges representing different regions and legal traditions. It uses some 60 cases to briefly introduce and highlight salient points of IP for judges. It is also tutored by judges or professors who previously acted as judge or rector of law schools.

The Distance Learning (DL) course on IP for judges is offered free of charge, is accessible worldwide and comprised of the following modules:

  1. Module 1: Introduction to intellectual property (IP) rights
  2. Module 2: Copyright and related rights
  3. Module 3: Trademarks
  4. Module 4: Patents
  5. Module 5: Geographical indications
  6. Module 6: Trade secrets / undisclosed information
  7. Module 7: Industrial design
  8. Module 8: Other topics on IP

Modular assessments

Certificate

The course is available in Arabic, English, French and Spanish. The course does not have any exam but a method of assessing yourself.

Your enrollment request should be received by the Academy during the next weeks until the 15th of March. However, the course will remain open until the end of June.
